Maximum Weekly
Benefit
The South Carolina Employment Security Law provides for a flexible, maximum, weekly
benefit amount which shall be determined each year by the Commission.
An insured worker's weekly benefit amount shall be fifty percent of his average weekly
wage and such weekly benefit amount, if not a multiple of one dollar, shall be computed to
the next lower multiple of one dollar; provided, however, that no insured worker's
weekly benefit amount shall be less than twenty dollars nor greater than
fifty percent of the most recently computed, statewide average, weekly wage.
The maximum weekly benefit amount, as established above, will be effective for benefit
years beginning on or after July 1st of the current calendar year and prior to July 1st of
the succeeding calendar year. |
