Major General, Abraham J. Turner
served as commanding general at Ft. Jackson from 2004 to 2005. He is originally from South Carolina and received a Bachelor of Science degree in music from S.C. State University in 1976. While attending the U.S. Army War College, he earned a master's degree in Public Administration from Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania.
DEW Launches New Website
The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce launched its new website May 13, 2010. Featuring a fresh look and user-friendly design, the new site helps support the department’s mission of keeping South Carolina productive and prosperous. After extensive planning, the site, produced in coordination with 18th Street Design and writer, Tom Poland, gives South Carolinians an easy “three clicks or less” way to access vital information.
