Official Court Appearances and Benefit Eligibility

You will not be denied unemployment insurance benefits for any week in which you are required, by law, to appear in court as a witness or to serve as a juror. However, your weekly benefits will be reduced by any amount that you receive for serving on jury duty, and the fees that you receive must be reported as earnings. Serving on jury duty does not exclude you from making an active search for work during each week that you claim benefits.
