Employer Status Report
Form UCE - 151
Each employing unit, regardless of the number of employees, is required
to file with the Commission Form UCE - 151, Employer
Status Report. From the data shown on this form, the Commission will determine the
liability or non-liability of the employing unit. Each employing unit not already liable
should request the Commission to make a determination as to whether such employing unit is
liable under the law.
If the business or a portion thereof of an employer is acquired, the Commission must be
notified no later than thirty (30) days from the end of the quarter during which the
acquisition occurred.
An "Employing Unit" means any individual or type of organization, including
any partnership association, trust, estate, joint stock company, insurance company or
corporation, whether domestic or foreign, the receiver, trustee in bankruptcy, trustee or
successor thereof or the legal representative of a deceased person, which has, or
subsequent to January 1, 1935, has had, in its employ one or more individuals performing
services for it within this State.
An employing unit giving employment in South Carolina, either on a permanent or
temporary basis, must file a status report with the South Carolina Employment Security
Commission. Wages paid for employment in South Carolina should not be reported to another
State without the specific approval of the South Carolina Employment Security Commission.
